Today, it is estimated that there are 1.2 Billion people on the internet sending 40 Billion emails every day. Within the next 2 years, that number is expected to grow to a staggering 1.8 Billion people sending 70 Billion emails daily! With that many emails flying around in cyberspace, how do you get your message, product, service or company noticed through traditional email?
Email marketing has been a very cost effective tool for years. Small " medium size business owners’ advertising budgets are stretched thin as traditional advertising venues (Yellow Pages, newspaper, TV, etc) continue to increase prices as their market share decreases (always a sign of a dying media). The Do Not Call list has drastically reduced telemarketing as an option to reach consumers, which has led to a surge in direct mail. The surge in direct mail has subsequently resulted in greatly diminished effectiveness as millions of consumers open their mail over the trashcan. So, the question remains " what is a business owner to do?
As a business coach, I have many clients who face this challenge of getting out their message in a way that gets noticed, but at a price the business owner can afford. In fact, I faced the same issue in marketing my business. I have used email campaigns and email newsletters through Constant Contact, but have found it increasingly difficult to “stand out of the crowd and rise above the clutter” because everyone else was doing the same thing. I needed something new " and I found it in the form of video email.
By creating and sending video emails, I have been able to get my message noticed and remembered in a very vivid and effective way. After all, people only remember 10% of what they read, but 50% of what they see and hear. With the service that I use, I am able to customize the banners around the video to reinforce my message. Furthermore, I can set URL links in the banners and direct viewers to different websites, thus fully integrating my marketing campaign. Another huge advantage of video email is the way that your customers connect to you through video that traditional email just doesn’t provide. For example, I send video emails to potential new clients prior to our initial face-to-face meeting. This serves to “warm up” the prospect " I often hear “I feel like I already know you!” As a result, my conversion rate of prospect-to-client has significantly increased.
So if you are a small " medium size business owner who is trying to figure out “how to rise above all the clutter” in the marketplace, you may want to look into video email as a possible solution. It has worked in my coaching business as well as in the businesses of many of my clients.
